Building doors and windows are an important component of building energy efficiency, playing a crucial role in ensuring building energy efficiency and improving engineering quality.  Currently, the energy-saving effect of doors and windows is not good, and phenomena such as water seepage from external windows occur from time to time, which have a negative impact on the quality of construction projects and user experience.  In order to ensure the application effect of energy-saving door and window engineering in buildings, promote the high-quality development of green buildings, and help achieve the "dual carbon" goals in the construction field, in accordance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards, combined with the actual development of the door and window industry in our province,  we hereby notify the following matters regarding further improving the performance of energy-saving doors and windows in buildings and strengthening the management of energy-saving door and window engineering in buildings.

Standardize the selection of energy-saving building doors and windows

The selection of energy-saving doors and windows in buildings should comply with the principles of "safety, durability, excellent performance, standardized installation, aesthetics, and practicality".

(1)To Select standardized energy-saving door and window products

Finalized design door and window products should comply with current national and industry product standards such as "Aluminum Alloy Doors and Windows" (GB/T 8478-2020) and "Plastic Windows for Construction" (GB/T 28887-2012), and have product type inspection reports issued by nationally recognized inspection agencies. The design, production, and installation of standardized door and window products should have complete technical documents, including thermal calculation reports, mechanical calculation reports, production process documents, quality control documents, and installation and construction process documents.

(2) Strictly control the heat transfer coefficient of the external window

The design limit for the heat transfer coefficient of external windows in new buildings is: residential buildings shall not exceed 2.0W/(m2 · K), and public buildings shall not exceed 2.2W/(m2 · K). The design value of the heat transfer coefficient of the external window should be strictly calculated and determined in accordance with the current building energy efficiency standards, and should not exceed the limit range.

(3) Standardize the main structures of energy-saving doors and windows

1.  Aluminum alloy exterior windows should be made of insulated profiles.  The main profile of the casement window should be made of aluminum profiles with a series of three chamber structures of 70 and above, and the typical insulation strip width should not be less than 29mm.

2.  The main profile of plastic exterior windows should be five cavity or above structural profiles, and the main profile of casement windows should be 60 series or above.

3.  When aluminum wood composite casement windows use aluminum alloy profiles as the main load-bearing components, the aluminum alloy profile part should use 70 and above series aluminum profiles.

4.  Insulating glass, its gas layer thickness: single chamber should not be less than 12mm, and multi chamber should not be less than 9mm;  The desiccant for insulating glass should be 3A molecular sieve;  The spacing strip for single cavity insulated glass should use warm edge spacing strips.

5.  The installation of external windows should use energy-saving auxiliary frames, and the thermal resistance in the width direction of the finished frame should not be less than 0.28 (m2 · K)/W.

6.  The balcony door (including transparent glass) should be executed in accordance with current standards such as the General Code for Building Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Utilization (GB 55015-2021) and the Technical Standards for Building Energy saving Doors and Windows Engineering (DB42/T 1770-2021).

Others

(1) Matters not specified in this notice shall be executed in accordance with the local standard "Technical Standards for Building Energy saving Doors and Windows Engineering" (DB42/T 1770-2021) in Hubei Province.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on March 1, 2024 and be valid for 5 years. For projects that have passed the review of construction drawing design documents but have not yet been constructed, if they do not comply with the provisions of this notice, it is advisable for the construction unit to entrust the original design unit to make design changes according to this notice. For projects under construction, all participating units should effectively implement relevant standards and specifications to ensure the quality and safety of energy-saving door and window projects.
